 The Sports Investor Final Review

smallfailed Football Betting Tipsters Review Summary

  Hi Bloggers

I had been reviewing The Sports Investors Lay of the Day from February 16th to May 1oth, the service started of very slowly for the first 5 weeks and spent most of the time showing a small minus, from the 26th March the results seem to pick up and it looked promising in fact it had  its longest winning run of 11 during this time, so i let it run the full 84 days. Well the good results continued for around 4 weeks and to morning prices which is what the service recommends were showing a profit of 9 points, then on the 26th April it hit its longest losing run of 4 which completely wiped out the profit. Here are the results for the review period:

Morning Betfair Prices:    79 Selections/54 Winning Lays = 68.35% Strike Rate,  P/L= minus 3.90 points,    ROI minus 4.94%

             BFSP: 61 Selections/39 Winning Lays = 64.10% Strike Rate, P/L = minus 1.60 points, ROI minus 2.62 %

Of course in my review i was working to the services recommended 5 point stakes so the losses would have been 19.50 points and 8 points respectively.  Now before the trial the only results we are shown on the website are from December 9th 2009 so we only have 2 months to check on and they are shown to the early Betfair prices:

Morning Betfair Prices (December 9th 2009 to February 15th 2010):

              64 Selections/48 Winning Lays = 75% Strike Rate, P/L + 12.23 points, ROI + 19.11%

Now those figures are more like it but its only 2 months hardly time to make an informed opinion, if we joined the review figures with the previous 2 months its hardly impressive stuff lets take a look:

Morning Betfair Prices (December 9th to May 10th) :

              143 Selections /102 Winning Lays = 71.43% Strike Rate, P/L + 8.33 points, ROI + 5.82%

The average profit on this for the 5 months works out at 1.67 points per month, so what does the service charge well as my introduction it was 295 pounds per year which is 24.58 per month, so in order to gain a profit of 8.82 pounds a month you would have to stake 20 pound per Lay, which is beyond alot of regular punters. To be fair to the service i monitored another week it had a nice winning run of 5 but then had 2 losers which meant that the Morning Betfair Prices showed a very small loss of 0.45 and BFSP took a bigger hit of minus 11.85 points due to 2 of the winning lays being over the odds and not being a bet.  So what are the good things about the service well most e-mails are sent out early in the morning and a brief description of why they think the horse will lose which is a good touch, the prices of losing lays are low working out at an average of 3.21.  I suppose the the fact that it is One Lay A Day not to many bets, but this could also be a bad thing because it is kind of obliged to find a selection even when maybe there is nothing outstanding that day, so you are not always getting the strongest lay, yet there could be a day when there is 2 or 3 good lays and they have to make decision on which one. When i first started the review the service was always updating its results on its website regularly, as of today the last time the results were updated was the 21st April and even then the last 4 selections have all the wrong dates, they also have Sinbad The Sailor down as Won it should be loss it finished 4th in its race, a little bit sloppy .

So what rating am i going to give this service, well i recently done 2 reviews of Laying system/services one Betfair Miracle(4 stars) i passed and the other Losing To Profit(3 stars) i put in neutral both had way better strike rate made alot more points profit and a way higher ROI, so i am going to award this service 2 stars. Just to sum up it looked a  promising service but failed to deliver during the review there is not alot of previous results to go on and even taken results since December P/L  returns were low and you would have to be a large stake layer to get anything out of it, you  clearly  need to have to have a strike rate  of 75% or very close, to see a reasonable return which it has failed to achieve.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Betfair Miracle- Final Review

BETFAIR MIRACLE – FINAL REVIEW

anim passed seal 31 3 2k10 Betfair Miracle Final Review

Hi Bloggers

Well before I start it is unlikely that I would ever give 5 stars to any system or service as far as I am concerned there is no such thing as a perfect system or service this is my own personal opinion and I would be happy if one day I was proved to be wrong but somehow I doubt it. But I believe there is some very good systems or services but you just have to really search for it and I believe this is one of them.

How do I rate Betfair Miracle simply put four stars out of five, why because it delivers what it says on the tin and that is why I recommend it. Will it make you a instant fortune No, will it make you steady profits without giving you high blood Yes, is it short term No , is it long term Yes. Now the regular blogger’s should know me by now I will obviously be backing this up with some facts and figures, also I want to say that  the author provided good customer service and only one e-mail went a stray during the 90 day trial this was due to a main computer problem. Not that you actually need the e-mail but it is provided free for the 21 days once you buy the system along with spreadsheets.

Right on to the results for the whole of the trial which remember does not include Sunday betting for both Main and Bonus Selections we had the following: (Note all profits quoted are to 1 point level stakes and Betfair commission of 5% is deducted)

Selections 63, Winning Lays 58 = Strike Rate 92.06 %, Profit 29.17 points,

Return on Investment 46.30%, Average Price of Losing Lay (BFSP) 6.24

So was this a flash in the pan, lets look at the results from June 7th 2007 to the day before the review started December 28th 2009, now although past results cannot guarantee the future results at least we can see if there is consistency:

Selections 652, Winning Lays 594 = Strike Rate 91.07%, Profit 301.41 points,

Return on Investment 46.38%, Average Price of Losing Lay (BFSP) 5.51

As you can see there no really dramatic differences except for the average losing lay price is abit higher this to me indicates a stable system, the longest losing run since June 2007 has been 3 and this has happened twice so far, with 2 consecutive losers eight times. As for winning runs it has 9 with over 20 consecutive winning lays including a 59, 41 and a 40. During the review the longest losing run was 1 and the longest winning run 26.

Actually there is a several occasions when the Bonus selection is the same as the Main Selection and we could class these as Bankers they have the best strike rate and the best ROI and actually puts the normal Bonus only selections in its place as the worse performer. For this one I have enclosed the results from June 2007 to the end of the trial:

Banker Selections: 141, Winning Lays 133 = Strike Rate 94.3%, Profit 94.30 points

Return on Investment 66.90%, Average Price of Losing Lay 5.00 (BFSP).

Normal Bonus Selections 124, Winning Lays 108 = S/R 87.1%, Profit 20.84 points,

Return on Investment 16.80%, Average Price of Losing Lays 6.11 (BFSP).

Clearly which ever way you go with this system you should make steady consistent profits but I like to wring out every last percentage of a system and my adaptation of this method would be to back only the Main and Banker Selections this would also be an ideal approach for fixed liability staking say 5 or 10% of the Bank with short losing runs, long winning runs and a slightly reduced BFSP odds on your losing lays as shown below.

Main/Banker Selections: 591, Winning Lays 544 = Strike Rate 92.08%,

Profits 310.74 points, ROI 52.57%, Average Price of Losing Lay 5.39

 Conclusion

Whether you decide to back all the selections which when taking in all results from June 2007 to-date would give you an average profit of 9.75 points per month with around 21 selections average for a month, or the Main/Banker ones which produced just over 17 selections a month with an average of 9.14 points the system appears to be solid. Now there has been some debate in the past about the author quoting profits to ISP and not to BFSP and not deducting Betfair commission unfortunately he is not the only one who does this, although it was pain and it took many hours for me to convert the figures it still does not distract from the fact that BFM is a good system. Although it is hard to give 100% accurate figures I have calculated that there is around 11.1 % difference between BFSP and ISP, so when you add the 5% deduction for BF commission you end with deducting 16.1% from the profits shown at ISP. If it was a case that the ISP prices was necessary  to keep the system in profit then I would have had serious doubts but as can be seen from previous quoted figures in this review which were to BFSP and commission deducted, they are very respectable.

I have seen on another site that they questioned about BFM betting on a Sunday and that the results for the system must have been bad so they did not include them, the answer lies in the fact that on Sundays there is limited information on each race on the RP website and this system uses the RP Basic membership, it is unwise to bet if you do not have all the info. For those who work during the day you can use a Bot to place the selections, if you do not you will have to check the Bookies odds just before the off to see whether the selection is a bet or not then lay with Betfair. So apart from having to be around near the time of a selections race or use a Bot the only other downside is subscribing to the Racing Post basic membership but there are a lot of systems using this so it just breaks down the cost if you add this one.  The system the last time I looked a couple of days ago is available at 67 pounds which I think this is good value as the system seems to have sensible rules which should be relevant for quite a while, would I use BFM yes I fully intend to add this to a small but select portfolio of mine

Betfair Miracle – Weekly Review Days 68 to 73

Betfair Miracle Weekly Review Days 68 to 73

 Hi Bloggers

Not such a good week with one selection winning at BFSP 5.70, but overall overall the system is still doing well,  but there is 5 days left lets see what happens doing this time. This is the last system/service i am trialing  from December last year and is running for 90 days, i should be doing final review for this on Sunday 28th March. Do not forget there is no Sunday betting with this system so the actual days showing on the review are for the six days a week only.

Results for March 16th to March 22nd  = 3 selections/2 winning lays (Strike Rate 66.66%)

P/L for the week covering days 68 to 73 = minus 2.80 points

Selections from December 28th to March 22nd = 58 selections/53 winning lays (Strike Rate 91.41%)

Running Bank after Day 73 =  124.42  points (100 points starting)

                                   Regards

Betfair Miracle Weekly Review Days 56 to 61

Betfair Miracle Weekly Review Days 56 to 61

 Hi Bloggers

Well it was almost a perfect 10 for the week but unfortunately yesterdays selection decided to win at 8.60 BFSP, it had to be kind of expected after a winning run of 26, having said that this system has produced  winning runs of 30,40 and even a 59.  Anyway despite a horrible price winner the week ended with a small profit and the system continues to show a healthy profit of 18.67 points, overall for the trial so far there has been  46 selections with 42 winning lays for the system thats  a very respectable 91.32% strike rate.

Results for March 2nd to March 8th  = 10 selections/9 winning lays (Strike rate 90%)

    P/L for the week covering days 56 to 61 = + 0.95 points

Running Bank after Day 61 =  118.67  points (100 points starting)

                                   Regards

Betfair Miracle Weekly Review Day 50 to 55

Betfair Miracle Weekly Review Days  50 to 55

 Hi Bloggers

Despite the fact there was 15 possible selections for the week we only ended up with  only4 qualifying all the others  had to shorter odds, all 4 qualifiers were winners for the system so a perfect 100% strike rate once again.   There has been 36 selections so far with 33 of these being winning ones for the system/service thats an impressive 91.74% strike rate.

Results for February 23rd to March 1st  = 4 selections/4 winning lays (Strike rate 100%)

    P/L for the week covering days 50 to 55 = + 3.80 points

Running Bank after Day 55 =  117.72 points (100 points starting)

                                   Regards
