Sergeant Lucian - Introduces The Richard Dunwoody Racing Service

Hi Bloggers,

I want to start with a short presentation of Richard Dunwoody, retired three-time Champion Jockey. His father George rode and trained many winners in his native Ireland, while his grandfather Dick Thrale also trained at Epsom. He rode to victory Charter Party in 1988 in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, for trainer David Nicholson. Also he won  Champion Hurdle with Kribensis, trainer Sir Michael Stoute. Several victories he had with the great Desert Orchid including two King George VI Chases and an Irish Grand National. More about Richard, his achievements and his team on the web site.

Richard Dunwoody Racing and his team offer two services and both will be reviewed here on BST:

1. PAY AS YOU WIN

2. Champions Subscription

PAY AS YOU WIN Service is a free to join service. There are simple rules for this service -  the client first receives a text message and if they are in a position to bet, simply respond and receive the second text message with the betting details. For the bet accepted the client must pay the returns for a £20 stake at the Starting Price (retain the entire stake placed). For this service the tips are rated with 10 from 10, so maximum strength.

Champions Subscription Service is a professional tipping service from Richard Dunwoody Racing and the newest member of the team – Steve Simpson, three-time winner of the Coral Racing Post naps table (twice Flat Champion and once Jumps Champion). This service come with a free bonus – Racing’s Best Kept Secret – Saturday Specials Service (21.5 points profit since 17/4/2010)  which is available for a limited period absolutely free to new annual members of the Subscription Service.

The service will provide 3 to 4 bets a week on average, selections based on 1-to-5 points staking plan, with 5 points being the very strongest. To consistently make money from backing horses it is important that you stick to a points-based staking system.   Advice is given via Members log-in area, free text message, pre-recorded phone message and email.

The Richard Dunwoody Saturday Specials Service will provide 2/3 Specials every weekend.

The price for the full membership to the Champions Service for 12 months is £695, 6 months £475, 3 months £275 and 1 month only £99.

The Richard Dunwoody Racing Services will be reviewed for 12 weeks.

Starting bank for PAY AS YOU WIN Service will be 1000 points and 100 points per bet and for Champions Subscription Service the initial bank will be 100 points and bets from 1 to 5 points.

@lucianfen,
In saying that over £800K is matched on UK horse races on Betfair, you are missing three points:

1. A lot (perhaps even the majority) of matched money on Betfair is traded. Therfore that money is matched at least twice over and often many times. It is matched on both the back portion of the trade and on the lay portion.

2. A substantial portion of late money on Betfair is placed by the Bookies adjusting their books.

3. The bet/lay only punters who put large bets on Betfair tend to be (semi-)professionals who have no need for a Pay for a Winner service.

I agree with Liam wholeheartedly. All these Pay As You Win services are not profitable. Very often the tips are short odds and a run of even 3 losers puts the punter in a situation where he is chasing losses. Even a run of 3 winners after a run of 3 losers doesn’t reflect a lot of profit (depending on the prices) especially after you have subtracted your previous losses. However the service is always a winner as they have no losses to recover. They don’t even offer you deduct the £20 you lost on their behalf on losers. If as Liam suggests you have a run of 6 losers then you would need a winner of 7/1 just to recover your losses. Which of these services give 7/1 winners?
I also agree that how many punters can afford £100 per selection (of which £20 stake is for the service)?

Dunwoody didn’t win the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Kribensis. He did however win the Triumph Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle on that horse.

Peter Sackville and Richard Dunwoody Both say that they are making a large profit. But does every one, Bet to 100 per point? I do not. The most I have ever done is 50, 25 and 20 and all lost. So now I stick to 10. I could not be interested in this service. That is not to say it is bad, just that it is not viable for me and those who can not do 100 point bets. Pro Punter PeterSackville wants £47.00 per month, cheap you may think but when you have done 3 bets at 100.00 and they all lost, it is not so cheap waiting for the next 7/2 winner. The same would apply to Richards service. it can only work cheaper and it would be Better to get a five person syndicate and everyone in it, bets 24.00 points
and then maybe you might be on a winner! 20 for Richards bet and 100 for the syndicates bet. Then everyone gets the proceeds of a 20 point bet includiing Richard Dunwoody. Thing is he is getting subscriptions from five people and if five of them put 20.00 on for him that is his 100.00 bet he is talking about. Remember a good service is unlikely to have a loosing run of more than 7. So if you get to 600 points without a winner the next 7/1 winner will get you even again. If you can afford 100 points per bet. 144 points at 24 per point for each of your syndicate But 7/1 winner still only get them even worse case situation of course but that has to be factored into your staking plan. Hope you will get lots of Dosh if you can afford to back like this. I can not.
