Odds On Ron – Days 65 to 69

3rd December 2012

Hi, Sgt Colin here, with the latest update on the performance of the Odds On Ron system.

I initially started with a bank of 100 points, staking 1 point per selection (using level stakes) and aiming to return c4 points per day (using the staking plan). After 64 days we were ahead by 4.9 points to level stakes, and 173.5 points using the advised staking plan.

Day 65 – 26th November

There were 4 selections today. We were in the recovery phase using the staking plan, but as stakes were low, I let them run. Only 1 placed horse, the last selection, so 6.3 points lost to level stakes, taking us into the red for the first time, whilst we lost 25.3 points using the staking plan.

Day 66 – 28th November

3 selections today. The 2nd horse placed at odds against, so I stopped staking to level stakes with a 1.9 point loss on the day. Setting a maximum profit recovery target of 40 points in order to limit staking levels, we lost 42 points on the day.

Day 67 – 29th November

3 selections today, and the first was a winner @ 3.81 (as the price shortened). 3.6 points gained to level stakes, 36.2 points using the staking plan. The first winner for 13 selections.

Day 68 – 2nd December

3 selections again today. All finished out of the places – 6 points lost to level stakes, 9.5 points using the staking plan.

Day 69 – 3rd December

5 selections today, the 3rd of which came in at 6.2. A 2.4 point profit to level stakes, 22.3 points using the staking plan.

Updated results are:

Staking Plan:  Initial bank 100  Total Staked 1143 points Profit 155.3 points  Closing Bank 255.3 ROI 14%

Level Stakes: Initial bank 100 Total staked 308 points Loss 3.3 points Closing Bank 96.7  ROI 2%

We have achieved a 20% hit rate on win bets (40 wins), and 46% of selections have placed (or won). The early gains made on the trial on level staking have now been lost thanks to the latest losing run, but the wins have been frequent enough to keep the staking plan results at healthy levels, albeit below our peak profit of 279 points earlier in the trial.

Note that if I had adopted the staking plan in its purest form I would have achieved a bank of 478 points, at a much higher ROI – but would have been 2 losing bets away from losing the bank on 2 occasions.
