We had another selection today, but it was declared a non runner before the off. Just for the record, here are the details:
Beverley 17:15 – Kiama Bay
Likely favourite after winning his previous race in June last year. However, there look to be plenty of negatives to oppose him today. Only previous visit to Beverley saw him finish well beaten. His win was over 1 mile and he tackles just under 10 furlongs for the first time today. He didn’t look the most straightforward of rides last time out and made hard work of his victory. His Official Rating has been raised 4lbs and he carries 9st 6lbs today which is more weight than he has shouldered previously. Not been seen for over a year which indicates some problems. His fitness, form and wellbeing are therefore taken on trust (the market will gives some clues there). Trainer’s strike rate in these races here is below average and others in the race are looking weighted to win.
Shame about the non runner as I got on it early in the morning!
