Over to you Betting System Guru!
This week finished with +7.14 points – With all due respect a profit is a profit regardless of my concerns below… [But please take into account the extra NON qualifying bets they have included in their results]
January
After 3 days is showing a loss of 3.53 points. Other points to consider the website is still quoting a 75/85% strike rate please see below in BOLD for the last 3 months plus January to-date results.
This Week – 27th December 2009 – 2nd January 2010
Some more problems have arisen with LTB this week. There were 2 selections (horses) this week claimed by LTB as winning bets but in fact they were in infringement of their own rules. It is clearly stated in their own rules not to back any selection with an SP of over 4.00 now the 2 horses in question were Taunton 15:25 Dec 30th Shakalaboom priced at SP 7.00 and the other was Newbury 14:05 December 29th Manyriverstocross SP 5.50.
Upon investigation another overpriced horse was found for December Hexham 14:20 December 9th Riguez Dancer SP 5.5 now these horses accounted for 3.80 points as one selection was Double Unit Play or (DUP) so this should have added to the minus total for the month.
As per Ady’s comments, (LTB MEMBER and Respected Blog Reviewer) he was told by LTB that they sent out an e-mail concerning Shakalaboom but he never received this and nor did I. Is there any other members who wish to add to this, to confirm receipt of this email or deny? Also no e-mails were received by me concerning the other horses I clearly have them as no bets, I also noticed they had a darts bet on Jan 1st to lay Lewis at up to 6.0. As long as it is clearly stated in the tips section I have no problem allowing a selection through above LTB advised rules but again This is an inconsistency in my view to try and gain some points by laying bigger outsiders.
Now another issue arose this week LTB sent out a special bet on December 30th it was in the 13:40 at Taunton Quandor Noire we were told to back this at 20/1 as the price would be going down it was going to be gambled on by connections and the SP could be as low as 5/1 or 6/1 by the off, what happened the SP ended up at 26/1 so what happened to the so called gamble? How did the horse perform terrible it was pulled up, It really does make me wonder where they get their information?
If I thought last week they were really gambling then this week was even worse there was 36 bets (without the above horses) of these there was 17 DUP and 2 TUP (Triple Unit Plays) and we found ourselves betting Danish and Swedish Ice Hockey, Belgian Football and Spanish Basketball, true they made a profit on the week, more by luck than judgement if you ask me, but it was still not enough to save the month from making a loss.
All Members of Lay The Best can enjoy a free month now and anyone not receiving the free month please comment on this post.
Since November 13th 2009
From the Start of our Trial on 13th November – 2nd January the running bank is now at minus 13.11 points, But as a heads up for next week, the total had a bad start with -6.48 points, so the true reflection is now -19.59 points.
For the month of December the final total is minus 9.28 points – (This constitutes a FREE month service)
- October had 83 Selections with 53 winning bets = 63.86% Strike Rate
- November had 137 Selections with 81 winning bets = 59.17% Strike Rate
- December had 127 Selections with 74 winning bets = 58.27% Strike Rate
- January has had 10 Selections so far with 5 winning bets = 50% Strike Rate
So what has happened since we started the review on November 13th?
We have now reached Day 52 despite some gains our bank stands at minus 19.59 points, if someone had joined the managed account of LTB on December 1st and invested the 300 pounds minimum bank they would have gone bankrupt after only a few weeks, LTB solution change the minimum bank to 600 pounds, what about the punter who went bankrupt?
On December 1st subscribers received an e-mail saying that the service would be more selective and concentrate on what they know best Horse Racing and be more selective in there bets what was the outcome for December 127 selections of which 92 were Sports Bets (56.33% S/R) and only 35 horse selections (62.89% S/R) even allowing for recent bad weather that hardly constitutes being selective or concentrating on the horses.
Two e-mails were sent out one in November and the other on December 23rd acknowledging that results had been poor but it was down to bad luck and bad decisions by referees & players, is it no wonder that the blogger’s on this site are fed up with this service. On a more personal level none of the e-mails I received even acknowledged Xmas or the New Year, did anyone receive a seasonal greeting from this service I certainly did not, its only a minor thing but at least it shows they have some consideration for there clients.
Till Next Week.

Hi Ted
Pleased to here that you got your money back and that i was able to be of some help. Have a good day.
Regards
Sgt David
Thank you David.
After my previous failed attempt, I followed your instructions and have now received my refund from Clickbank.
Great advice.
Ted
Hi Mattson
I maybe able to help here i had the same problem when i tried to get a refund for Underground Punter, if you just click on refund and tech support you will here from the vendor who of course does not wish to give you a refund because its losing them money. What you need to do is look for escalation in the dropdowns and the radio button that says deal directly with Clickbank representative, this bypasses the vendor. Using this method i got a refund very quickly, just to remember to state clearly the reasons for you wishing to have a refund. Hope this helps mate.
Regards
David
been cheated by lay the best and learnt a good lesson
about Clickbank, I was always told that the Clickbank refund
policy was cast-iron, ask for a refund and you will get it for
whatever reason.. no way , asked for a refund 3 times and
all I got was some c**p email from paul simmons
Hi Pugwash,
I used the PayPal option to make the payment. I tried first of all to contact Clickbank for the refund, they sent a mail back from Paul Simmons saying that as the month wasn\’t up yet that he felt I should stay with the service and give it a chance before the refund could be made. I said that I was unhappy with the quality of his tips and that even if he kept sending them through for the remainder of the month there was no way I was going to be putting any more money on them, so he may as well refund me now and not wait for the month to finish. Clickbank sent me another mail in response to say that just reiterating that he didn\’t want to refund me yet. I put in a claim through PayPal and the same day I got the refund. PayPal\’s refund policy is excellent, Clickbanks is not.
Ade
you got a refund ? Ive tried and been refused with LTB quoting their official refund policy that nobody knew about
“Any losses incurred fewer than 5 units will result in a full refund being
awarded should the small loss not be recouped during the subsequent month.
Any losses incurred of 5 units or more will result in the above, with the
addition of the subsequent month being free of charge”.
I failed to receive the free month – did anyone actually receive this?
This service has been really poor of late, no one can argue that. The strike rate has been far lower than those advertised on the website – perhaps considered misrepresentation and a case for those persuing refunds through clickbank? Also, the moving of the goalposts has been outrageous.
To try and be fair, the horse racing results have picked up of late.
I completely ignore the sports bets (I know Paul claims these make circa 40 points over a year – but I’m not sure it’s worth the effort – there are better systems out there that will afford you that.)

Hi Ted, Yes I managed to get a refund from Clickbank without too many problems.
Has anyone managed to get a refund from clickbank? If so, I’ll reopen my case with them (see my post of 6 January re their refusal to refund).
ted
reading back my message above it should have read
Id never heard of them before and with results showing since January 2006 led you to believe it has been PROOFING for the best part of 4 years.
However Id like to point out that Ive no reason to believe the results are not genuine. my main gripe is with the back track on the subscription refund
is this link our Paul?
http://www.bizoppjungle.com/Reviews/Paul_Simmons_-_Racing_Tipster.aspx
sorry james but I feel ive been cheated by this lot.
what bothered me about this service that it seemed to have appeared all of a sudden with numerous reviews happening about the same time october – November. Id never heard of them before and with results showing since January 2006 led you to believe it has been around the best part of 4 years.
anyway on digging around ive found this on the ClickBank blog and in the words of Paul Simmons DATED 30.9.2009
“The site was established in June 2006 and originally sold a betting system eBook product (Paypal sales only) with the only marketing strategy employed being Adwords.
* I recently converted the site into a tipping service based on the original eBook and have decided to switch to Clickbank to gain affiliates.
* Since the re-launch in August 2009, I have been proofing our results to the Racing Post (leading newspaper for the UK horse racing market) and I will be advertising with them by the end of October 2009.”
Our customer retention rate is very good (94% of first month customers stayed on for the second month), as our results are genuine.
Now about me – I am an experienced horse racing professional with over 25 years of experience. I am very customer service orientated and I am very confident that customers referred will stay signed up for a very long period. ”
so Paul (very customer service orientated) answer the questions please
Hi Guys,
Strange this one, what started with such high hopes is quickly turning into a major disappointment. More than 1 site have recommended it, but what caught my eye recently was one well known site, filing a certain Paul Simmons Racing Tipster, in the ‘ scam file’,.Some customers felt they were treated very badly and to use their words, ‘ dont touch this with a bargepole’.
Could there be aother Paul Simmons, or the same?
I have emailed Paul 3 times now and no response to answer these queries. His customer service is usually quite quick and i find he answers the emails i send either slightly before his tips go out or slightly after. Im stumped.
My reviewer is compiling the excel sheet for this trial in an orderly fashion so it is readable and not just notes. This will be available for download shortly.
Continue your discussion for now.
Paul can you please address:
Ady’s Comment #11
Michaels Comment #12
Pugwash Comment #15
all the best
James
OK OK, I think we need to wait for Paul to address the things brought up so far to answer for his service. I would say please hold fire on posting any more questions and comments until Paul has personally addressed these ones above. I want to keep this as fair as possible.
Well done pugwash, something which I hadn’t noticed since I decided to withdraw my subscription. The reason being that I don’t bother looking at their website anymore, can’t be doing with all the rule changing!
Surefire sign of moving the goalposts!!
Ok Paul if you read this then please explain the change in policy
taken from the Lay the best website today
“We are so convinced that our selections will make you a profit that if you don’t make a profit after 6 months, we will refund all of your subscription payments. To date, we have never had to use this policy as we have made a significant profit every year!”
taken from the Lay the Best pre the losing month
“We are so convinced that our selections will make you a profit that we have a policy of awarding a free month if we ever have a losing month. To date, we have never had to use this policy as we have never had a losing month!”
“
Michael
Please see my comment at post #1, this tells me that there will be no free month as they’ve already decided that you can be as much as -5 points before it is a loss!!
Doesn’t make any logical sense to me, no matter what your standard of maths, a minus figure is a loss irrespective of how much.
It’s about time Paul realised that.
