Betfair Hurdle

There are 16 declared runners for the £155,000 Grade Three Betfair Hurdle, the highlight of a fantastic seven-race card at Newbury on Saturday.

The extended two-mile contest, Britain’s richest handicap hurdle, has been won by subsequent Grade One scorers My Tent Or Yours and Zarkandar in recent years.

With Consul De Thaix being ruled out with a sore hind leg the weights have gone up 5lbs which leaves Hendersons other runner Hargam heading the weights.

We have someone who is going to be tipping for this website for free on a weekly basis but all he asks is that he stays anonymous. This is what I received off him by email:

“My selection for this race is Ballyandy, you can’t mistake the fact that Twiston Davies is in form at the moment with big race winners every Saturday. I’ve backed him at 11/2 earlier this week. Now I know he still has not won over hurdles but has had 3 solid efforts, he is a champion bumper winner and is getting weight from his main rivals and in my opinion is well treated. I would find it hard to not see a big run from him here.”

Denman Chase

A small but quality field for this Denman Chase with only 3 runners declared. Here is what I received off our tipster:

“My father always said to me when I was young, in a 3 horse race always back the outsider…..Le Mercurey is the outsider here, and I wouldn’t rule him out completely. I think the small field will play to his strengths and he also beat Bristol De Mai at Ayr last April but he doesn’t seem to be showing that same spark this term whereas Bristol De Mai bolted up in his last race, again trained by the inform Twiston Davies.

With all that being said I can’t see past Native River, I know Tizzards horses are going through a quite spell at the moment but how he won the Welsh National with top weight was unbelievable and I think he is the horse to bring Tizzards stable back to life.”

So there you have it, your free bets for this weekend. Good Luck if you are betting and I will be back next Saturday with some more tips.

Feel free to comment below if you have any selections for any of the Saturday’s racing.
