Sgt Mick Review

27th December

Another profitable Boxing day, not our best day admittedly but profit is profit and that’s the main aim.
Annoying start to the day, Ingleby Angel drawn in stall 2 but blows the start badly leaving him in last place. It was a big field so his chance was ruined, still he has ran on strongly to finish 5th and that was a great effort from the horse. Not much we can do about it but we will get him next time out.
Kyllachy Gala ran well for each way returns, would probably have won but for losing his stride turning for home. Battle of Marathon was never given a chance by Osborn. You expect this with a claimer, he got it right last time out but panicked today bringing his mount widest of all for no reason.
Intisaab ran out a nice winner. He was given a nice ride from Shoemark who always had him well placed to claim the leaders.
Outer Space ran very well, a return to some sort of form for the horse but in all honesty with the way it opened up for him I would of expected him to win this. Still each way returns at decent odds.
Tips for Wednesday 27th December, 2017

1.45 Wolverhampton – Krystalite 10-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin Unp -£10
Krystalite is very interesting in here. He is a very well handicapped horse at present, his last win over this C and D came of 67 and tomorrow he races of 57. He didn’t seem to enjoy Southwell last time out but I can always excuse a run at Southwell. Before that he had run two nice races over this C and D, a 6th of 62 and then a 4th of 60 both suggest of 57 he should go very close. He has stall 6 tomorrow which is a good draw for this prominent runner to cross over. At an each way price he looks well worth a small investment, as with any front runner much will depend on how he starts but that’s racing and the risk we have to take.
2.50 Chepstow – Milansbar 20-1 widely available 4places
0.5pts E/W  Non Runner Meeting Abandoned
I am going to chance Milansbar in here carrying bottom weight. He has run several good races in similar contests and this is by far the lowest rating he has brought into one of these races. He’s a likeable horse who comes into this after two very solid prep runs. They stick the cheek-pieces on for the first time which is obviously quite eye-catching and we know he should relish the conditions. It all points towards him out-running his lenient odds.
4.25 Wolverhampton – Waarif 6-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W
 Fin Unp -£10
We backed Waarif last time out at Chelmsford. They had harrowed the track deeper than usual that day so it is no surprise that the 1,2,3 were all on the pace or just in behind. This horse blew the start which he does have a tendency to do but I was very taken with how strongly he travelled into the race. On deep ground he couldn’t quicken as well as what looked likely but still he ran a race full of promise. Dropped 2lb he is clearly on a workable mark and I am just hoping we get a little bit of luck with either no trouble in running or maybe that he gets the start right. We will see but at an each way price he is a solid bet.
4.55 Wolverhampton – Jessie Allan 11-2 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin 3RD Return £10.50
I am quite keen on Jessie Allan in here. He is a well handicapped horse who comes into this in cracking form after two 2nds at Newcastle and a 4th over C and D latest. He was very unlucky last time out, a wide draw and slow starts left him wide and towards the rear of the field. With nowhere to go he was forced widest of all in a big field turning for home. To finish 4th was quite frankly a huge run and left on the same mark he surely has huge claims of the same mark. Stall 7 is fine and as long as he can break on terms and settle mid-pack then I struggle to see how he won’t go close.
Good Luck
