A losing bet last night, but today’s author’ s comments below in an e-mail I received around 4.40 pm.
Polona Hercog v Alize Cornet

Hercog has done pretty well on clay recently and is ranked #23 on
the surface (Cornet #59). Hercog won a lower level tournament in Cali
a couple of weeks ago and won easily in the first round here, earning
12 bp’s against just 3 of her oppponent.
She also has a slightly better record in all matches on clay and Cornet
had lost 4 matches in a row before beating poor veteran Craybas. She
even lost to Mattek on clay in the Fed Cup which is a poor result for
her.
