D G Tips Review Day 79

Sgt Mick Review

19th January

Dear Member

Another profitable day with 1st and 3rd in the big handicap over at Meydan.

Polybius got loose before the off and was made a non runner. Money back obviously so no issue but always a little annoying when you’ve put research into the tip.

El Torrito travelled better than anything into the race but was denied a clear run for the whole straight. Whether he was given much help from the saddle is another question. 14s into 6s and Havlin booked you’d expect Havlin to be trying but I must admit it did look extremely suspect. A customer did suggest that maybe he had his orders that if he couldn’t win then not to place which looking back at the race does seem quite likely.

Salsabeel won nicely, he was keen early but that’s him. He hit the front with a furlong to go and kept on gamely to win going away. Hors De Combat also placed 3rd to add some extra profit, he looked beaten 2f’s out but ran on gamely late suggesting it wasn’t a particularly strong pace.

Tips for Friday 19th January, 2018

2.30 Lingfield – Human Nature 11-2 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin Unp -£10

These 6f handicaps are trappy races as we have seen in recent weeks and I think I have been playing them wrong going in with two horses. I am going to side with just one tomorrow in the form of Human Nature, I was a little surprised with how strongly he was backed last time out however he travelled with real zest and would of gone very close but he could never get out to challenge with a clear run. The promise however was clear and again from stall 1 he must go close. Milly Naseb is booked negating an extra 7lb which I would usually see as a negative, but she has ridden the horse a total 7 times and has a very solid profile on board the horse. From stall 1 providing he breaks well he should get a perfect sit in behind what looks to be a very strong pace. Zac Brown, Magnus Maximus, Certificate and Kachy will all be forcing the pace and that should set the race up perfectly.

0.5pts E/W Fin 2nd Return £11.87

I’m really keen on Malt Teaser in here. Havlin is the perfect jockey to get the best out of him, he needs to be settled early and ridden with confidence. He rode him really well two starts back when finishing 2nd to Sky Eagle, that form is looking rock solid with the winner following up since. He then went to Lingfield over the same trip under Drowne finishing a very creditable 4th despite things not going his way. Again that form is looking solid with Iley Boy coming out and franking the form since. Yes Widnes disappointed but I am convinced that wasn’t his true running. With all those form lines being franked and now pitched into what looks an easier race Malt Teaser looks to have his best opportunity for some time. He has to turn the form round with Sanches but that horse got a better run and Malt Teaser also now has a 5lb pull for just 1lJut
