Lathom ran another solid race in 4th however I am losing my patience with the horse. He has much more talent than he is willing to show and today was another example of him not quite putting it all in.

Two later at Kempton and both have been well backed so fingers crossed for two big performances.

There is bags of pace in here and I find it hard to see how this won’t turn into a pace collapse. Summer Icon improved over last year’s AW season and was never better than when able to track a strong pace. She has dropped to a handy mark which is 1lb below her last winning mark and this race is distinctively easier than the listed races she has been running in recently. Callum Shepherd negates an extra 3lb which is an obvious bonus and from stall 7 she is well berthed to get a good position. I didn’t expect to see Midnight Macchiato so leniently priced in here. I thought he’d be more around the 3-1 mark than the 5-1 on offer. He ran a huge race over 1f further last time out and has only been raised 1lb for the run. He attempted to make all that day and dropped back a furlong in trip he looks set to run a huge race. Spencer is an eye-catching booking and from stall 4 he should have little issue gaining a prominent position.
