REVIEW D G Tips Review Day 94

Sgt Mick Review

7th FEBRUARY

 Dear Member

Classic Pursuit ran a great race to finish 3rd. He drifted to 11-1 which gave us nice each way profit.

Tips for Wednesday 7th February, 2018

3.00 Chelmsford – Sir Harry Collins 5-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin Unp -£10

Sir Harry Collins shaped really well over this trip at Wolves two starts back. That was a good race for the grade and now 2lb lower returned to 6f’s he should go very close. We can scratch his last run as he could never go the early gallop over 5f’s at Southwell. Chelmsford as a track should suit and from a good draw in stall 5 he looks to have a lot in his favour. Connections reach for the 1st time tongue tie and blinkers which would suggest they mean business.

4.00 Chelmsford – Excellent George 11-4 widely available
1pt win won Return £37.50

Excellent George won nicely over this C and D two starts back and then ran very creditably up in grade at Kempton. That was a hot race for the grade and the form has been well franked since. His early speed and strong galloping nature means he is a much better horse around a track like Chelmsford than Kempton. From stall 2 he should have no issue taking up a prominent position and if he’s good enough he won’t lack for any assistance in the saddle as Aaron Jones is a great apprentice to have on side.

6.25 Wolverhampton – Right Touch 6-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin Unp  -£10

Right Touch looks good value in here from a nice low draw. He has been running well at Lingfield recently, firstly finishing 2nd in behind Shyron (strong form) before finishing 7th there last time. He was drawn wide that day and could never get cover being shoved out 3 wide. I am prepared to forgive that run and now back down in class and dropped 1lb by the handicapper he should put in a bold show here. Stall 3 obviously gives him a fantastic chance if he can start well and Paul Hanagan is an obvious bonus back in the saddle.

6.55 Wolverhampton – Circling Vultures 14-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Fin Unp -£10

I am going to chance Circling Vultures in here. He really caught my eye over this C and D last time out. That form line is very strong and gives him the beating Top Offer despite the betting. Lord Murphy is an obvious danger however he is short enough in the betting and we now where we are with that one. A form line through Joys Delight would suggest Circling Vultures will have his measure too. From stall 2 I am really hoping Cam Hardie can get him to start better tomorrow as he was slow away last time out. With a good start he will be a danger to all.

8.25 Wolverhampton – Point North 8-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Non Runner

Point North is very interesting in here. Obviously, his draw in far from ideal but he is usually slow away so I don’t really think it will make much difference. Three factors really catch my eye about this horse tomorrow. Firstly he has been dropped 2lb for his last run which looks lenient as the form has been franked and he was flying at the finish. Secondly Lewis Edmunds is booked, he is a very talented apprentice and his 3lb claim is invaluable on a horse like this. Thirdly this horse needs a fast pace to aim at and with 4 front runners in here (Red Stripes, King Crimson, Krystallite and Roundabout Magic) that looks assured. If he gets a clear run and a race run to suit he will be tough to keep out of the frame at the very least.

5 selections today but one was non runner. The other 4 yielded 1 winner and 3 unplaced. Stakes £40, Return £37.50 A slight loss on the day of £2.50, so no real harm done.
