Hi Bloggers
Another selection today, so straight into the details:
Kempton 20:45 – Lombok
A couple of 2nd places last month sees Michael Bell’s gelding as forecast favourite tonight. There are, however, a few negatives that mean he can be opposed. Untried at track and has never encountered an All Weather surface before. His best runs have been on Good to Firm (although Polytrack is deemed somewhere between Good/Good to Firm). He is once again tried at 2 miles here. His recent 2nds were over 12f & 14f and previous attempts beyond 14 furlongs have seen him finish 8th & 11th. His Official Rating is back up to 70 and he has never made the frame above a mark of 65. Trainer has had zero wins from 15 attempts in this age group here in the last 5 years (despite having a reasonable strike rate with 2 & 3 year olds). He is up against proven performers at this distance and others are starting to look weighted to win.
Good news – the selection came in fifth out of the ten runners at a Betfair SP of 6.80 (ISP 9/2). The Betfair prices were very strange yesterday, as it went as high as 13.00 at one point, but I managed to lay it at 5.20 ten minutes before the off (whilst sitting comfortably in my seat at Wembley Stadium, watching England thump Bulgaria 4-0. Oh the joys of Betfair Mobile!).
That gave us a profit for the day of £38.00 or 0.95 of a point at level stakes. Our cumulative bank now stands at £2,106.00 giving us a profit to date of £106.00 or 2.65 points at level stakes.
Onwards and upwards!
Kind regards
Tony

Hi Bloggers
Another selection today from Martin, so here are the details:
Kempton 20:20 – Bramshaw
Once raced Amanda Perrett colt makes his seasonable debut in what looks a competitive handicap and is forecast favourite tonight. However, there are several negatives that mean he can be opposed. Win was over 7 furlongs (a race which had a moderate early pace) and he steps up to 1 mile here. Not run since November last year and whilst he did win on his racecourse debut, his fitness, form and wellbeing are unknown especially as he is taking on more experienced horses with recent runs. He has been upped in Class here and takes on several rivals who have good form in higher Class races than this. Trainer has a low strike rate in 3YO races here. There is always a small concern when taking on an unexposed horse such as this as he may be very good but he looks to be up against some tough rivals.
The selection finished third of the nine runners, at a Betfair SP of 4.48 (ISP 7/4).
That gave us a profit for the day of £38.00 or 0.95 of a point at level stakes. Our cumulative bank now stands at £2,068.00 giving us a profit to date of £68.00 or 1.70 points at level stakes.
Until tomorrow…..
Kind regards
Tony
