D G Tips Review Day 53

Sgt Mick Review

23rd December Day 52

Dear Member
Great to add another winner last night Black Truffle, great ride from Nicola Currie and to out-battle Kirby in a finish takes some doing.
Our sole tip today is still to run, hopefully it puts in a good performance.
Tips for Boxing Day will be out around 3-4pm on Xmas Eve.
Hope everyone has a lovely Xmas.
Tips for Saturday 23rd December, 2017

1.35 Haydock – Ubaltique 7-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Won Return £52
Ubaltique is down to a very workable mark and is always primed for this particular race. He finished 4th in it last year of 122 but it is worth noting that he faced 14 rivals that day and was given a mountain to do from the back of the field. His last win actually came over this C and D when winning of 124, tomorrow he races of 120 and he has his favoured underfoot conditions. McCain’s yard loves to land a Christmas gamble and for me this looks an ideal opportunity for Ubaltique.
1.45 Lingfield – Petite Jack 7-1 widely available
0.5pts E/W Won Return £52
This is a tight race and the each way price about Petite Jack makes plenty of appeal. He has been a fantastic buy for Archie Watson’s team and this could easily be his big day tomorrow. He has the draw in stall 2, has a 3lb swing with Master The World and providing he breaks well and is produced as late as possible then he should at the very least place. He ran a good race last time out in a race that wouldn’t have suited and before that he was produced far too early. Luke Morris will know him much better now and with a race run to suit he will be dangerous to all.
2.20 Lingfield – Sandfranskipsgo 10-1 widely available/Roundabout Magic 5-1 widely available
Both 0.5pts E/W Sanfranskipgo Unp. -£10    Magic Roundabout Won Return £40
Two in here look very interesting. First up is Sandfranskipsgo, he looks absolutely plotted for this. Crate and Kelly combined for this owner last year in this race with Picansort, we were lucky enough to be on that day at a huge 14-1 and this looks to me as a very similar scenario. Stall 1 is obviously a fantastic draw, he ran an eye-catching race last time out over this C and D when drawn widest of all and now down another 3lb he is ridiculously well handicapped. This looks a plot job to me so hopefully everything goes to plan. A more straightforward bet is Roundabout Magic and given the each way price about him it is worth keeping him on side. We put him up at a double figure price last time out and he finished a very good 2nd. He has been raised only 1lb which is fine and again from stall 7 he should get a race run to suit. If I’m honest I think Sandfranskipsgo will win this if everything goes to plan but this is racing and it is worth keeping Roundabout Magic on side as a saver.
3.30 Lingfield – Widnes 3-1 widely available
1pt win Fin 2nd  -£10
Widnes has caught my eye on his last two starts, he’s an awkard type however given his style of running this slightly smaller field should be more suitable than the big fields he has been running lately. He is a well handicapped horse who is clearly in great heart, the yard is flying and Gordon keeps the ride on board. He has a nice draw in stall 3 and he should go very close.
What a day! very bad luck for  not being a great day. 5 selections with 2 being in the same race yielded 3 great winners and a second, about which the general  consensus is that this horse was given a bad ride and would have won, had it not been for jockey error. Having said that I am sure everyone would settle for these results any day.
