There were no picks emailed out for Monday but the BMW golf championship was concluded on Sunday night and we had 5 picks to keep an eye on.
Matsuyama was generally poor and Spieth wasn’t at his best in the 2nd and 3rd round. Cantlay and Hoffman started well but couldn’t carry on that form to the end so none of those four made it into the places, despite some of them spending a while in and around the top spots.
Contrastingly, Marc Leishman had a great tournament, with 10 birdies in the first round and 8 in the second but only 2 bogies over the 36 holes, he was in a very strong position after the first half. He didn’t continue as strongly for the rest of the tournament but despite Justin Rose coming within 2 shots of catching up, Leishman was too far ahead and he won the tournament at 40/1. The Sports Guru made an excellent selection in Leishman and as a result, our bank rose by 40.5 points. Recent results have been so bad that unfortunately we’re still in the red, but it’s lessened the deficit by a significant amount and it does show a glimmer of hope that there could be a recovery.
