Hi Bloggers,

A relatively easy final review for a change and my first real successful service/product in just about a year!

So I started reviewing Champion Draws  84 days ago which as its’ name suggests is a service offering ‘draw’ selections from various major leagues in Europe, specifically, England, Scotland, Germany,Italy, Spain, France and most recently, Greece.

The Champion Draws is simplicity itself with the selections being emailed normally once a week for the weekends action. There have been the odd mid-week selections but these have been rare.

These selections have consisted of either an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ or ‘D’ bet, with the staking criteria representing a proportion of your starting bank as follows:

‘A’ bet – 3%

‘B’ bet – 6%

‘C’ bet – 9%

‘D’ bet – 12%

I think this staking plan has been crucial to the success of Champion Draws where on average 1 win bet in 3 has returned a profit. This being especially true with ‘C’ and ‘D’ bet successes obviously.

These are the complete figures for the 84 day review.

Total selections – 40

‘A’ bets -   wins – 4       losses – 12

‘B’ bets -    wins – 6       losses – 9

‘C’ bets -     wins – 3      losses – 3

‘D’ bets -     wins – 3      losses – 0

So a total of 16 wins out of 40 giving a S/R of 40% with an overall flat stake profit of  + 239.87 pts

Crucially, out of 40 matches, we only ever reached the ‘D’ bet selection 3 times, and, as has been seen, has returned a 100% S/R for this particular bet.

Now, obviously, we can speculate how the figures may have been drastically decreased by say a ‘D’ bet loss or 1 or 2 more ‘C’ bet losses. This is a point to take note of for the future, especially as we have seen the recent demise of another soccer  service after having performed so well during the review period.

To this end, I will be suggesting that we continue to ‘keep tabs’ on the service and maybe give an updated review once a month or so for our loyal members out there.

So in conclusion, after the 84 day period and with the figures reported, I really have no option but to pass Champion Draws with ‘flying colours’ and would highly recommend  Champion Draws as a welcome addition to your ‘betting arsenal’!

We understand that the price for Champion Draws is to go up when doors reopen, however there will an opportunity for readers of BST to join at a

reduced price, so watch your inbox for further details!

All the best,

Update-Monday 21st Feb 2011

Although this done very well during the review period it is obvious that using the format of betting to certain amounts on whether a selection is A, B, C or D rated does carry more risk, it might be an interesting fact that just backing all selections during the review to 1 point level stakes would have produced a profit of  11.85 points from just 40 selections a ROI of 29.625% which would still justify its rating.  Of course the level stakes are not endorsed by the vendor but does illustrate the profitability of the service.

RM Dave

Update by Admin- 20th April 2011

Since the review of Champion Draws finished in February, as most of our readers will know, it has not performed anything like it did during the review period, if fact it has been extremely poor. As the final review and rating is based solely on its performance during the review period, it has been decided to add this update to make readers aware of the current situation.

So, since the end of the official review to the date of this update, there have been a total of 26 selections, of which 23 have lost.

This has reduced the bank from 355pts at the end of our review, to 103 pts currently, so practically all the profit has gone.

During this period there have been 4 “D” bets which have lost, each of which took with it 12% of the bank.

If we get further information we will continue to add further updates.

Admin Gordon

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for the update.

For all the reasons already explained we will not being changing the original rating. I have however, added an update to the final review summary, adding the information you have posted here, so at least people can read what has gone on since the review ended. If you could keep me informed as to continued progress, the updates can be modified at a later date if necessary.

Thanks Tommy,

Hi Bernard,

An excellent comment which all readers should heed, well done! It is very much appreciated when one of our valued readers takes the time to share such a common sense approach.

Thank you very much Bernard,

Firstly, note the excellent final review write up by Sgt Tommy who had the foresight to include his observations regarding a failure of “C” and/or “D” bets affecting profitability. Secondly, note that the system author (Andrew) points out that a fairly aggressive staking plan is used that may not be to the liking of some bettors.

These facts alone would surely influence the size of bank used by anyone taking the system on board if operating that aggressive staking plan. It did with me. I cut the recommended bank to what I was comfortable with risking.

The recent poor run comprises a loss of 3x”A”, 4x”B”, 2 “C” and 1x”D” bets and my start bank is showing a loss of 39% with the prior profit also wiped out. So what? It will either recover or not but the last thing to do is cut and run just because you have hit that first poor run. If it runs into a new winning cycle then the losses can be quickly recovered and you move back into profit. If not, then you lose that particular bank and may then decide at that point to give up on the system/service.

This site has always (in my experience) been fair and honest in reviews and fair and honest with everyone using it. They have guided and warned time and again on the safety aspects of being involved in betting/investing/gambling. Never bet with more than you can afford to withstand as a loss is good advice that I am certain the sensible take on board.

Too many so called “moaners and whingers” expect perfection for little outlay and can be totally unrealistic in thinking they can bowl in with money they can ill afford to risk expecting the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Get real. It is hard work making betting pay.

As for systems, all win and all lose at some point. If you land one that is profitable over time and recovers from the inevitable poor runs then that is worthy and you will keep it. As commented in a recent BST newsletter, if you join a system/service at the peak of a good winning run, chances are you will catch the losing run fairly soon.

Isn’t the whole point of having the start bank to enable you to sustain poor runs/losers and allow you to hopefully increase that bank by profiting over time? The system/service does not fail until that bank you set up is wiped out.

I will not write off Champion Draws at this stage. It still has promise following 2 bad weeks. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like losing but I will see it out because that recovery may just be around the corner and I have 61% of my bank left to capitalise on that.

Cheers and happy punting,

Bernard.

Hi Mike,
Firstly I have read the review managers comments, and nowhere can I see your name mentioned? I also commented on the 2 systems, so perhaps his reply was aimed at me?

Let me just make it very clear that David, our review manager has great experience in this field, he has tremendous knowledge of staking systems, and is extremely good with figures when it comes to calculating the long term profitability of products. As he said he will look deeper than just the review period if possible, to help give an informed opinion, but the final rating will always be based on the review period, it can be no other way. He also continues to use the better products himself.

His frustration, and I am sure all our reviewers would agree, I believe is born of the fact that lately there has been a lot of comments about how we should react the instant a product has a hiccup, and immediately alter our final review and rating of the product in question.

Now, I dont know how many times we have to say this, but lets try again.

We will review a product or service for an initial 56 day period, if at this stage it has failed to make a profit, it is unlikely the review would continue, and the product would be failed. If a profit was being made, the review is extended to 84 days. At the end of this period the reviewer will give their assessment of the product or service, based on their experience during the trial period. Then a rating is given, based primarily on its profitability, but also taking other factors into account. Thats it, simple, end of story.

The idea that we should have a knee jerk reaction every time there is a downturn in a reviewed product or services fortunes, and immediately alter our final review and rating, quite frankly is totally unworkable. We do not and will not change a rating based on a comment or two, usually relating to a very short period of time, such as in the case of the uproar over last weekends performance by Champion Draws. We would need to conduct a completely new review, in fairness to all concerned. Dont forget it is not only the buying public we have a responsibility to, but the authors and vendors as well, as we are very aware of the effect on them that a negative review can have. In no time at all we would simply find ourselves going round and round in circles, reviewing the same products over and over again! The army of reviewers we would need is unimaginable!!

Whilst a review may contain some elements of the reviewers opinion, based on their experience of whilst using the system or service, essentially it is a review based on FACTS obtained during the test period. Obviously, as we keep saying, past performance is not a guarantee of future performance, and over a longer period of time things may change, but we believe that we are helping to identify products that stand the best chance of producing profits over the longer term.

We will continue to rely on our readers to use our websites as a platform to inform each other of the continued fortunes, or otherwise, of products we have reviewed, although warnings based on a handful of results are in all honesty not very helpful.

I know full well that the vast majority of our readers fully understand and appreciate the way we work and all the effort our reviewers put in on their behalf, all totally for FREE!

Gordon

hi gordon i do not appreciate the abuse given by your review manager , i gave my opinion of a system i had used , incidentally longer than the review period , yet because it differed from his opinion he comes out with the previous post . surely reviews are just one persons opinion of a system over a specified period of time and can be shown to be wrong over the longer period .

@Review Manager:

Hi Dave

“We do our utmost to try and give honest and unbiased reviews but all we get on this site on the whole is nothing but bitching and moaning i for one am beginning to wonder why any of us even bother.”

You know as well as I that this industry attracts moaners who expect it all to be laid on a plate for them. I remember asking a subscriber list what they wanted from a laying service priced at £10 per month. One guy thought the tips should generate at least 30 points per month. Even at Betfair minimum stakes this meant his expectation was a 600% return on investment every month! No wonder I gave up and stuck to developing my own systems for my own use.

By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Friday!

Cheers
Jon

Hi Folks
First of lets cut to the case i was the one that reviewed Favourites Phenomenon and just sticking to Level 1 losses were only small and i returned a profit of 41.79 points, Level 2 recorded a profit of 35.94 points both of these were over 34% ROI. If you set up the bot correctly there is no need to suffer heavy losses.Once again a bit of planning and thinking before starting out. Recently another respected site done a rerun of FP using Level 1 and it suffered 2 consecutive losing days which is almost unheard of it actually bounced back and after 2 weeks was back in profit. It is totally comical that people go for progressive staking but not recovery. As long the recovery staking has safeguards then no problem, i would retest this product anytime a very reliable bot and a sound strategy.

Onto Laying Odds on Favourites i reviewed that too i stated that it was slow and that the profit was unexciting but if you look at the stats it returned a 10.53% Return on Liability. even the website said it was a slow process so the product did actually what it said on the tin during the review. I checked previous figures before this and everything tallied so i passed it. Now i am really getting fed up with repeating myself because it does not seem to sink in with some of the contributors to this site, the reviewers and myself can only report on what happens during the review we can check previous results to see if the pattern of the review holds out in previous months/years if that information is available and report any notable difference thats it. We do our utmost to try and give honest and unbiased reviews but all we get on this site on the whole is nothing but bitching and moaning i for one am beginning to wonder why any of us even bother.

Hi Mike,

If you wish to warn against Matt Watson’s systems then by all means do so, I have made it clear that is not a problem, and also you can of course reply to Andrew Costa.

Just for information, I have personal experience of Favorites Phenomenon, it didnt work for me, 2 losing days in quick succession left me with losses of approx £200, chasing a £3 daily profit figure. That meant that the recovery period at £3 a day, plus subscription costs, and almost certainly more losing bets, was soooo long it just wasn’t worth going on. I also dabbled with Laying Odds On Favs, again it was not for me, the stakes necessary to stand any chance of covering the subscription cost and making a profit were so big that would have been way out of my comfort zone. Now that is my opinion, based on personal experience, it is my understanding however, that both these products are highly thought still in certain quarters. Just goes to show that perhaps the perceived failure of a product, can in some cases be down to short sightedness, failing to take the long term view, or just plain lack of bottle!

This may prove to be the case with Champion Draws, I dont know, but what I do know is that you cannot possibly judge any product on its performance of one weekend. Yes last weekend has highlighted what can happen when results go against us, and quite possibly has given some people food for thought, but quite frankly from the reaction I suspect that many people have been staking outside their comfort zone perhaps? You simply must go into live betting with your eyes wide open, allocate an amount of money you are prepared to lose, and stick to your plan. Easily said, but certainly not easily done!

Gordon

hi gordon this is a bit pointless now as the post is no longer there but i was warning against matt watson systems , because andrew costa who does the champion systems is promoting a matt watson system in his post on this thread !
i just feel it is a bit unfair that he can promote something without reply .
my !!!! after favourite phenonomen was purely to emphasize that you had done a review and that i knew nothing about it whereas laying odds on favourites i used to subscribe to and in my opinion you would struggle to cover the subscription costs .
i hope that explains my posting !

Hi Mike,
Now come on Mike behave yourself!LOL Of course I read your comment, that why I deleted it!

Ok, lets name the name, You said in your comment that Matt Watson is responsible for the Champion systems, well he isn’t, he has nothing to do with them at all.

I also felt that by adding !!!!!!!!! after the reference to a third system you said you “could not comment on”, was in itself a very big comment!

As I said before, feel free to answer the post by the vendor, I am happy for you to do so, but please keep it factually accurate.

Cheers,

hi gordon its a shame you did not read the post before deleting it as it was in reply to a post in in this thread , actually by the vendor , and my comments were based on my experience of two systems i had purchased or followed . the third system i said i could not comment on , but that you had done a review and passed it !!!!!!!!

Hi Mike,
Admin here.
I have removed your post in the Champions Draws final review thread for the following reasons.

The person you mention in your post actually has nothing to do with the Champion systems, so you comments could therefore possibly be construed as libel.

If you wish to make comment specifically about this persons products, by all means do so, in the BST talk thread, but please ensure that any facts you quote are accurate.

Finally you say you have no information about a particular system, and yet you seem to be questioning our integrity in that we have reviewed and passed it.

Hi Bill,
There has been an update added to the final review of Champion Draws, with some staking information the Review Manager David has calculated, hopefully this will be useful to subscribers of the service. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but looking at the 100% record for “D” bets for example, it was inevitable that there was going to be losing bet soon, and when it came it was going to hurt. When something performs as well as Champion Draws during the review period, there simply must be a correction around the corner, such performance is unsustainable long term. Whilst we do our best to access a product over a 3 month period, it certainly cannot be accessed or condemned on the results on just one weekend! Perhaps I should just add that I personally subscribe to Champion Draws.

Cheers,
Gordon

I agree with the comments above referring to Soccer Overs and Champion Draws, after reading your reviews I took them both, about 6 weeks ago and both are losing me money plus the subscription costs. I now need to re-evaluate before my three month renewal is due.
Whilst I am sure your review was true, I question what has changed after it, and I think for those who invested we need further guidance.

Review Manager @ 3:58 pm #

Hi Bloggers
Lets get one thing straight if a system or service has passed a review it is based on what was achieved over the period of the trial, all our reviewers can do is post comments and give a rating based on that. Our review periods of 56 to 84 days are quite long compared to most sites out there, even then a product can suddenly hit a purple patch during this time and give a false look, but most of the experienced reviewers will notice this and report that fact.
I have asked Sgt Rich to publish an article in this weeks newsletter which basically explains why New Systems etc fail and also covers when you buy approved system/services if a product performs exceptionally well then it could hit a losing patch and that could well be after the Sergeants and Inspectors have made the Final Summary. Well we all know that we have good and bad cycles in life, betting is no different the only thing is if you have a solid system or service you can reduce the amount of bad ones but
never completely eliminate them. If you are not prepared to lose now and then you should not be betting, you cannot have winners without losers and vice a versa, it is how you react to the losses that will either make you one of the 2% elite or just another mug punter.

Regards
RM Dave

Andrew Costa @ 12:26 pm #

@Paul: Paul,

Perhaps the timing is unfortunate but we had agreed several weeks ago to mail out for Matt Watson’s Turkish Football Tips on this date.

We are not a service that bombards our subscribers with constant offers for garbage affiliate systems or services, nor will we ever be. In fact, we only mail out a couple of times per year and only for services we believe to be of the highest quality.

Matt Watson already has 2 betting services that have passed BST reviews, Favourites Phenomenon and Laying Odds on Favourites, and I fully expect Turkish Football Tips will make it 3 if it is also reviewed here.

While it is perhaps unfortunate that this mailout came after a losing weekend, as I said the wheels were already set in motion and it is rather
time sensitive because his offer is for the rest of the season, so we’d
certainly want anyone who does subscribe to get the most out of the opportunity.

And as for our bad week, yes, it was certainly bad, but as I mentioned in my mailout to subscribers yesterday we are going to take a step back a few times per year. Our average profit since we gave our first bet 4 months ago is at 45% per month. Even if that were reduced over time to an average of 25% per month, if you didn’t withdraw for a full year and compounded using our staking plan that would turn a small $1K starting bank into $14K, so I hope that puts things in perspective.

We are now 23-1 on our completed series with roughly 85% of those wins coming before that final “D” bet, so I think it would be extremely short-sighted to read too much into one series loss or 1 bad week.

– Andrew (Champion Draws)

Paul @ 9:52 am #

To make this weekend’s losses even more acute, he then comes on this morning and emails his customer base with a new ‘Turkish Football’ tipping service. Just so amateur, I can no longer trust this service.
