9 Minute System – Day 4

18th November Day 4

After three relatively unexciting days, today was the crunch day where I needed to realise the available profit and I did! This was on variants 1 & 2. Yesterday’s winner was outside variant 3’s odds limit, so we did not have the profit opportunity on that variant today.

Possibly because I had to find the right Back/Lay odds, I logged on to the race an hour before the off. Long before the horses had come out into the parade ring, one candidate was coming in dramatically. I backed at 7.50 and watched the price drop even lower on Betfair. Eventually I laid at 4.80, so the risk was lessoned and in many ways it would have been better if the horse had won, so that profit on the back/lay differential could have been realised. But the original mathematically expected profit was achieved.

For the second qualifying race today I backed and laid a horse at 9.0, but this was outside the parameters for Variant 3, so no bet there. The cumulative profit of 0.65 points might look small, but this is to a basic stake of 1 point and a maximum loss so far of between -0.35 and – 0.25 points.
