Tennis Picks – Days 51 to 56

Sgt Colin reviews Tennis Picks

Hi, Sgt Colin here, with the continued review of Tennis Picks, which as the name suggests is a tennis tipping service.

We’d made a great start, lost some of the early gains, only to rebound and build the bank to nearly 600 points, only to drop back again to level pegging.

Day 51 – 4th June

2 selections – Radwanska failed miserably v Errani and we lost 11 points despite backing Ferrer to thump Robredo.

Day 52 – 5th June

2 bets again, one a “push” and the other a winner. 8.5 points gained.

Day 53 – 6th June

Sharapova to beat Azarenka & Williams to thrash Errani. Both won. 15 points up.

Day 54 – 7th June

2 bets, both odds against. Tsonga +4.5 games v Ferrer, Djokevic +2 games v Nadal.  Tsonga was never in with a shout – Djokevic very unfortunate not to win. 21 points given up.

Day 55 – 8th June

Backed Williams to beat Sharapova in her usual manner, by more than 5.5 games. She “only” won 6-4, 6-4 – so 10 points lost.

 Day 56 – 9th June

3% of the bank on Nadal -6.5 games v Ferrer @ 1.71. He won by 10 games – so a winning end to the first part of the trial

Staking plan: Opening Bank: 500 points Gain to date: 1.73 Closing 501.73. Staked 1461. ROI 0%.  Hit rate 55%

Level stakes: Opening bank: 100 points Loss to date: 0.5 points Closing 99.5 points. Staked 120. ROI -0%.

So decision time – do we continue the trial past the first 8 weeks?

Clearly, a breakeven result isn’t what you’d hope for when you’re paying out to receive tips. However, I’ve been impressed with the rationale behind the selections, and I have decided we should continue the trial (for another 4 weeks).
