Continuing with the reports on the Golf Bet Profits results since the Final Review last month I have results from four weeks for you to pore over.

Week 14 – Competitions covered this week were the Texas Open and the Malaysian Open. There were two competitors in each of the competitions with Charles Howell III finishing best, tying in eighth place after being in the top five after the third round. J.B.Holmes finished joint 11th in the same US Tour game. No joy at all in the Malayian Open with the best selection being tied in 65th place. A 72-hole match play between Louis Ousthuizen and Martin Kaymer was also reversed with Kaymer winning by 14 strokes. An extra bet in the Texas Open tipped Brandt Snedeker to win, but he finished in fourth place. A loss of 18 points on Week 14 – overall a loss of 15.83 points.

Week 15 – This week we were at the Volvo China Open and the Heritage Classic in South Carolina. No good news in the China Open with Y.E.Yang not making the cut and James Morrison finishing joint 27th. Of the three selections on the US Tour, Nick O’Hern looked best, finishing tied in sixth place only one shot out of fifth place and profit. There was also a cross-tour double this week between Yang and Brian Gay, but with Yang missing the cut Gay was a clear winner in 36th place. A loss of 12 points on Week 15 – overall a loss of 27.83 points.

Week 16 – On then to the Ballantines Championship in Seoul and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans where there were only three bets, but what fine results from so few. Dustin Johnson returned consistent scores from all four rounds and his 69 in the last put him in clear fourth position earning ten points. Bubba Watson went even better in the Zurich, winning outright following a play off with Webb Simpson after tying on 273, two strokes ahead of the rest. This result earned more points than any previous wins and was the first winner from a bet delivered before the start of the relevant competition. Jeff Overton, the remaining bet, finished 69th. A profit of 64.25 points on Week 16 – overall a profit of 36.42 points.

Week 17 – Here we look at the Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow in North Carolina and the Open de España in Barcelona. A total of five competition bets, two 72-hole bets and a late last-round bet which was the only one which proved successful. Three of the competition bets did not make the cut with the remaining two finishing 48th and 46th. The 72-hole bets cancelled each other out with a five-point win and a five-point loss. The last-round bet in the Wells Fargo arrived on Sunday, backing Lucas Glover each way, who tied up with Jonathan Byrd on 273. It was all over after one hole with Byrd going one over par to hand Glover the spoils and a win for the service of 25 points. A profit of 15 points on Week 17 – overall a profit of 51.42 points.

Total profit carried forward after 17 weeks = 51.42

The last two weeks picked up 79.25 points which overall puts the service at its highest profit total since the review started. It also illustrates how much fortunes can change in such a short time. Probably one reason why I would personally be very wary of investing in the sport. Call me wimpish, but I prefer steady but sure progress. By committing to a monthly fee and seeing little profit I would probably be off like a shot after the first month. Equally, if I had joined at Week 16 I would also be cashing my chips today, happy to get such a fine return for my investment. That is just me. Hopefully the form of the selections recently continues to end in profit and we can judge the results more with binoculars than a microscope, such is the long-term investment style of the service.

Best Regards

Sergeant John
