Hi Bloggers

We are on a good run of selections now and here is today’s advice:

“Windsor 19:40 – Bougainvilia

Lightly raced Filly from Richard Hannon’s yard who is expected to go off short here after her recent placed effort at Newmarket. There are, however, a few negatives that mean she is opposable. Untried at Windsor so suitability of the course is not known. She won a 1 mile race on her debut at a big price before flopping at the same distance next time out. Was then dropped to 5F where she was placed. She tries today’s distance of 6F for the first time and she is therefore very versatile or connections are still trying to work out her ideal trip. Raised just 1lb for her latest effort but she carries 10st today which is more weight than she has shouldered previously. Trainer has a decent strike rate at the track and Richard Hughes rides her in public for the first time today. There are proven performers at this distance with many starting to look weighted to win. The small concern is that Selection could prove to be useful if this does turn out to be her ideal distance. However, there are enough negatives and we recommend lay subject to maximum odds of 4.2″

The selection came in 2nd of the 9 runners at a Betfair SP of 3.30 (ISP 7/4) netting us £38.00 profit for the day or 1 point at level stakes. The bank now stands at £2,111.60 giving us a profit to date of £111.60 or 3.39 points at level stakes.

You may be interested to hear what Martin had to say about the two runners yesterday (if you recall, 1 won and 1 lost).

“Selection : More Than Many

Apart from some early pennies he never got inside our recommended maximum price (5.5). Drifted sharply in the morning before seeing a gradual drift leading up to racetime. Was returned 8/1 (Betfair SP 14.1) Hopefully most Members got on inside their MIPC or managed to get some trading profit from him. Didn’t actually run too badly considering the long lay off but struggled to make any impression on the leaders. Finished 7th beaten around 5 lengths. Will obviously strip much fitter for his next run.

Selection : Northside Prince

Fluctuated throughout the day with circa £900 matched inside our recommended maximum price (5.0) before drifting. Majority of matched bets around 5.7 – 6.2 before finally being returned Betfair SP 5.54 (9/2 J2F). Regretfully, he ran a good race and defying his weight and lack of a recent run, he got up near the finish to win by 1/2 length to record his first ever win. This is our 2nd Losing Lay in July and was doubly annoying as we had all but recovered our losses from the 1st Losing Lay last week.”

There were one or two posts about the ‘recommended’ Betfair odds, which I hope have now been settled. Please let me know if there are any other questions.

Until tomorrow…..

Kind regards

Tony
