Hi Bloggers

After a couple of blank days we got two selections today! Here is what we were sent:

Thirsk 15:00 – Sheila Toss

Won for the first time last week by 7 lengths in a very weak handicap, and Selection is expected to go off short here today in another weak but competitive looking race. However, there are a few negatives that make her opposable. Her win was in a Class 6 and she has been upped in Class again today. She is yet to perform at this level and carries a 6lb penalty. Untried at Thirsk so course suitability is unknown and she has not put in a decent performance on Good going. Others will enjoy a better draw. Trainer has not had a runner here in the last 5 years but Patrick Hills rides for the first time. Some rivals have better form at this level and are beginning to look weighted to win. We recommend lay subject to maximum odds of 4.0

Thirsk 16:10 – Little Oz

Recent 2nd at Yarmouth see’s Selection as likely favourite here today. There are , however, a few negatives that mean she can be opposed. Still a maiden, she has been upped in Class from her last run. Not run at Thirsk and yet to attempt Good going. Course and Going suitability are therefore unknown. Trainer has had zero wins from 13 attempts here in the last 5 years and Jimmy Quinn rides for the first time today. A more competitive race would have made this a stronger Lay but given the number of negatives, we recommend lay subject to maximum odds of 3.75

Good news for us! Both selections lost and here are the details:

Sheila Toss came in 5th of the 10 runners at a Betfair SP of 3.60 (ISP 9/4).

Little Oz came in 3rd of the 9 runners at a Betfair SP of 3.96 (ISP was also 9/4).

Those 2 results gave us a profit for the day of £76.00 or 2 points at level stakes. Our cumulative bank stands at £2,187.60 giving us a profit to date of £187.60 or 5.39 points at level stakes.

Let’s hope for a great weekend

Kind regards

Tony
