Hi Bloggers

Here is the latest update from the author before today’s selection details:

“I have been doing various bits of research into results at this time of year and it seems that July and August can be tough months for both Backers and Layers (this is also after receiving feedback from Members that use other Services). Our results since 1st July have been +4.46pts to Level Stakes and 5.39% inc of Bank to recommended 10% Liability Stake Plan (the 3% Stake Plan Bank has increased by 10.61% in the same period). Whilst these figures are down on prior months, form should become more consistent over the next few weeks and we can hopefully start to see our Banks grow more rapidly.”

Our selection for today was as follows:

Salisbury 15:35 – Mr Irons

Inconsistent colt from Sir Michael Stoute’s yard who is forecast favourite in a tricky looking handicap. There are however, a few negatives which mean he is opposable. A winner over a furlong shorter on his last start as a 2YO, he has failed to recapture that form this season culminating in a 17 length defeat on his latest start (admittedly in a much hotter race than this) in July. Untried at track, so course suitability is unknown and his speed figures are in decline. Trainer’s strike rate at the course is good but Kieren Fallon rides for the 1st time today. Small concerns are that Trainer is very good at placing his horses to win and Selection wears a Visor for the first time today, the effect of which is unknown. There are, however, a few rivals that look to have chances here and we therefore recommend lay subject to maximum odds of 5.5

The selection failed to read the script (and most of the newspaper tipsters!) and trotted up first of the nine runners at a Betfair SP of 6.42 (ISP 9/2). That gave us a pretty big loss for the day of -£216.80 or -5.42 points at level stakes. Our cumulative bank has dipped bleow its starting level of £2,000.00 and now stands at £1,923.60 giving us a loss to date of -£76.40 or -1.91 points at level stakes.

Let’s hope for better luck tomorrow.

Kind regards

Tony
