After a couple of blank days we have a selection at last!
Sandown 17:00 – Brigadoon
Recent 2nd at Lingfield sees Selection as forecast favourite in a weak but open looking handicap. However, there are a few negatives that make him opposable. Still a maiden, he has been upped in Class today despite being unable to win at a lower grade. He is untried at Sandown’s galloping track and all his best runs have been on sharp courses so course may not suit him. Only previous run on todays Good going saw him finish last (admittedly that was his racecourse debut) and his latest start was on Good to Firm going. Trainer has had just 1 3YO winner from 22 starts at the track in the last 5 years and Liam Jones rides for the first time today.
The selection drifted a lot from its morning price, but trotted in 4th of the 9 runners at a Betfair SP 0f 9.78 (ISP 8/1) giving us a welcome profit for the day of £38.00 or 0.95 of a point at level stakes. Our cumulative bank stands at £1,878.00 giving us a loss for the trial so far of -£122.00 or – 3.05 points at level stakes.
