Recent 2nd sees Selection as likely favourite in a weak but competitive looking race. There are however, a few negatives that mean she an be opposed. Still a maiden, she has not run at Newcastle before and all her good runs have been on sharp courses so she is not guaranteed to enjoy Newcastle’s galloping track. Has predominantly run on Good to Firm ground and her only previous attempt on today’s Good to Soft surface saw her finish 5th beaten over 7 lengths. Others hold a better draw and her speed figures are reducing. A couple of rivals look to have decent chances.
The selection came in second of the eleven runners at a Betfair SP of 3.99 (ISP 9/4). This gave us a profit for the day of £38.00 or 0.95 of a point, which leaves our bank at £1,992.00 giving us a loss to date of -£8.00 or -0.20 of a point.
