Total Football Trading The Paper Chaser – Days 19 to 21

26th November 2011

Hi Bloggers, Sgt Colin here.

Champions League matches on Tuesday, which gave me plenty of matches to work with. 3 qualified – but unfortunately didn’t all behave themselves

CSKA v Lille. Laid CSKA @ 2.52, but had to close out @ 2.44, making a 2.16 point loss. Strictly outside the “odds range to be used by novices” – but in truth, the risk is lower at high odds than low odds.

Lyon v Ajax. Again laid the favourite, Lyon, at 1.89. As above the trade went solidly against us – and I closed out at the stop loss of 1.83, losing 3.68 points.

Man U v Benfica. And a similar trade on United. Laid at 1.67 – and bought at 1.72 making a healthy 4.12 points.

Overall, lost 1.72 points on the day.

Couldn’t get access to the games on Wednesday, unfortunately, so had to make do with lesser choice on Thursday. Fiorentina v Empoli qualified – and I backed Fiorentina at 1.42, closing out by laying at 1.38. This made 2.75 points profit.

On Friday one match qualified – Munchengladbach @ Koln. Originally backed at 2.18, and although the trade went the right way – it was only by enough to cover the spread, and I broke even.

18 trading days gone for The Paper Chaser
44 selections, 23 winners, 17 losers, 4 break-even (52% hit rate).
Cumulative gain 59.1 points,
Betting bank 1059.1 (from 1000 start point).
ROI (based on 4400 points invested) – +1.34%.
Note that the average gain on winning trades is 4.2 points, whilst the stop loss mechanic means that the average loss on a losing trade has been 2.3 points. 11 winning days, 1 break even, 6 losing days.
Have still to try and calculate what the return achieved on the true “risk investment” is – it will be considerably higher.
