This is a strange race and probably not one that you’d find in the winter months as it is looks a real mis-match.
Nedzer’s Return on paper at least shoudl walk this and is justifyably odds-on, but Chase form is no cast iron gaurantee of Hurdle form. That said it does appear that he nas been placed to pick up an easy win and for that reason I wont be going in maximum stakes here. Although the each way option Proficiency does look like a “free bet” in that he looks booked for 2nd or 3rd given the favourite delivers. Indeed its very difficult to find any place candidates outside the top 3 in the market, Fools Wildcat is the only other one and that is flimsy based only a 19 length 4th being his best form. Proficiency has shown improved form the last twice, both runs at this course since having a visor fitted. Whether it was the visor, the jockey or simply having a preference for Perth is not clear, but a reproduction should certainly see her at least place here. “
