Betfair Success Formula – Day 16

17th February

Today I selected Benfica v Stuttgart. Stuttgart are struggling in the Bundesliga, but in this match they outclassed Benfica. The nightmare, as regards this system, happened. Stuttgart scored in the first half and threatened to score a second. The odds went against us. If I’d closed the bets at half time, as suggested, the total loss would have been – 31.57 points. This would have wiped out all total profit so far. If Stuttgart had scored a second, it would have been even worse, up to 50 or more points loss. This is why this is not a low-risk strategy.

As it was I waited up to the 70th minute, which the manual says you can do if you understand football. Benfica were slowly getting back into the match so I risked a worse loss in the hope of Benfica scoring. This is gambling, pure and simple. Just on the 70th minute Benfica scored, phew! and I closed the bets for a net loss of 8.10 points, so some recovery was made.

(Edited) – Karl is correct in his comment. I did say I would stick to closing bets at half time. The above describes what would probably happen and what you would probably do in real life. So I’ll leave the description intact, but report the results as at half-time for consistency.

In summary, I’ve had 10 winning days, 3 losing days and 3 no bet days. I’ve done 17 matches with 13 of them making a profit.
