Hi Bloggers.

We had another selection today and here is what they advised:

Windsor 19:40 – Poppy Seed

Progressive filly who won her maiden on her latest start by 9 lengths at 1/6F. This sees her forecast favourite for her handicap debut here. However, we feel that this is more competitive than the betting is likely to suggest and with a few negatives, she is opposable. She takes a step up in class here and is untried at Windsor, so course suitability is unknown. Raised a couple of pounds for the Lingfield win, she carries 9st 4lbs tonight which is higher than any previous runs. Trainer’s record in these races here is good but others have a better strike rate. Small concern is that the horse she beat at Lingfield has come out and won at a big price so the form of that race may be better than current face value. However, as we say, this looks quite competitive and cases can be made for several of her rivals. We recommend lay subject to maximum odds of 5.8″

For the first time in this trial, we had a ‘negative’ result. The selection came in first out of 12 runners at a Betfair SP of 5.07 (with an ISP of 5/2). Our £40.00 stake therefore produced a loss for the day of -£162.80 or -4.07 points at level stakes. Our bank now stands at £2,103.20 which still leaves us with a profit to date of £103.20 or 2.93 points at level stakes.

You might want to go and look at Martin’s post earlier today, wherein he explained how there would have been much higher profits to date if their recommended 10% liability method of staking had been used instead.

Until tomorrow…..

Kind regards

Tony
