Hi Bloggers

Two selections today, so let’s get straight into the information:

Windsor 17:40 – Higgys Ragazzo

Richard Hannon colt who is forecast favourite in what looks an open handicap. There are, however, a few negatives that mean he can be opposed. Untried at track so course suitability is unknown. A winner over a mile in September last year, his recent runs have been over 1m 4f on lively ground. Only previous attempt at today’s distance of 10f saw him finish down the field and he is yet to encounter today’s going (Good to Soft). Trainer has a good record at the course but jockey rides for the first time today. He has been raised a couple of pounds for his recent efforts despite the fact that he has been struggling to win. A couple of rivals look to have chances here

Windsor 20:10 – Secret Witness

Another competitive looking handicap where the talented but inconsistent Selection is forecast favourite. With several negatives however, would look to oppose him today. He has been pitched in higher class races than this so Trainer obviously feels he has some ability and he ran well at a big price on his last start at this track. However, the muddling early pace in that race means he may have been somewhat flattered. He tackles 5f for the first time today and his best turf runs have been on a Good to Firm surface. He may therefore struggle for pace and whether he will like the surface is open to question. Trainer has had zero wins here from 34 attempts in the last 5 years. Cases can be made for a few rivals .

The first selection won his race coming 1st of the 7 runners at a Betfair SP of 5.94 (ISP 9/2) giving us a loss of -£197.60 or -4.94 points at level stakes. The second selection came in 2nd of the 6 runners at a Betfair SP of 3.90 (ISP 11/4) giving us a profit of £38.00 or 0.95 of a point. Overall the day cost us -£159.60 or -3.99 points at level stakes.

Our cumulative bank is now down to £1,840.00 giving us a loss for the review so far of -£160.00 or -4 points at level stakes.

Let’s hope tomorrow brings a change of fortune

Kind regards

Tony
