This (being a Class 1)is not a typical race that I’d be looking to get involved in, however I like the look of this one and at the price it’s a low risk bet. Totally Ours fits the profile required here, as although she hasn’t stepped up in class yet, she is unexposed and has won her last two races. She is held in high regard and is expected to impove for the step up in trip. Here is what her Trainer had to say after she won her maiden last year: “She’s growing all the time and she’s going to be very decent next year. I’ve only recently started to train her properly as she is growing so much. I’ll put her away now because she is one for next year over longer trips, we might even think about the Guineas, she could be that good – Willie Muir, trainer “
Now she isn’t in the Guineas but she is on the same card, and here’s a guy that has been training horses for the best part of 20 years so its worth taking note of his opinion. The same Trainer/Jockey combo won this race in 2008.
She only just got up to win last time out and obviously faces a different surface/distance today along with a massive step up in class. However she was ridden confidently that day by Martin Dwyer and she almost certainly wanted more than the mile. Muir is bang in form with 8 winners already this season and almost half of all runners in the first three.
